Proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world

#iwitness St. Vincent's Group Project during Quarantine

Announcing: St. Vincent's Big Quarantine Group Project!

The videos keep coming in...thanks to all who are participating....we're revealing them one at a time--here is the link to see them on our YouTube Page!

How does your relationship with God set you free, give you hope, make a difference in your life??

During this time of quarantine, will you take up the call to be a witness to the things God has done in your life? To share His love and reality with a hurting world by sharing your own story?  St. Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 2: 8: "With such affection for you, we were determined to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our very selves as well, so dearly beloved had you become to us."  Are you willing to be vulnerable, to share how God has pursued you and how you have received His love in order to let others come to know and experience that love of Jesus?  Let's come together as a quarantined community and witness to what God has done--both to each other in our parish, and to the whole world (wide web)!

Check out the video explanation from Peggy below...or the written one below that...then JOIN IN ON IT!!

The Group Project has Two Parts and you are invited to participate in one or both of them.

Part 1:

Create a 3-5 Minute Witness talk video -- sharing  your story about your relationship with God--how has He changed your life, what are ways you've seen Him move, etc....there is not one right way to do this, so just pray about it, and consider using this "Personal Testimony Creation Guide" as a point of reflection and a sounding board to help you carve out with God what you want to tell the world about Him.   Email your final product to [email protected] and you'll receive an email back with a form to fill out giving us permission to post on our YouTube page in a collection of other St. Vincent Parishioners #IWitness videos.

Part 2:

Create a 1 Minute Video by yourself or with your family where you:

1. State your name

2. Say Hi! or some other greeting

3. Finish the sentence "I love St. Vincent's because..." in your own words

4. Finish the sentence "What I miss most about St. Vincent's during quarantine is...." in your own words

5. Share an invitation in your own words to someone who doesn't go to St. Vincent's (or maybe doens't go to church at all) to come and join us online or (when we are out of quarantine) in person--whatever you feel inspired to say

6.  Give a shout out to your fellow parishioners--offer a prayer, a hello, an i miss you, whatever you want to say

Email your 1 minute video to [email protected] You will also receive back a waiver form to sign and return, saying we can use your video and post online.   We will use the collection of videos to create two compilations: 1)An outreach/welcome to our parish/join our St. Vincent's family video for our website and YouTube page, and that you can use to help spread the word and be a witness, drawing people into Jesus working here in the community of St. Vincent's and 2)A "Hello From Quarantine" video for each of us to see the other and say "Hi!" ...and witness with the love we have for one another to the love God has for us:-)

Practicals:

Use your phone, computer or camera to video yourself, or have a member of your household record you

Email the video to [email protected] by next Friday, April 24th.  If email doesn't work because the file is to big, email Peggy for a file-share site that we can use to get the videos over to me.

Use this Personal Testimony Creation Guide to get you started on part one

“But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame.” 1 Peter 3: 15-16
