During the session we watched this 10 minute video of Fr. Mike Schmitz giving us a summary of all of salvation history.
Consider doing the Bible in a Year --it's an incredible learning tool that will give you a Catholic understanding of the scriptures and help to make sense of everything that makes people go "huh??" in the the Old and New Testaments.

Alpha Session on Prayer Below! If you want a fun, relatable, basics talk on praying!

For your prayer time this week -- do a close read and perhaps journal about these verses regarding hearing God's voice:

Jeremiah 33:3
Psalm 85:8
Psalm 119:105
John 10:27
John 14:26
Hebrews 4:12
Revelation 3:20

Also, try spending 10-15 minute of your half hour using the journaling method Deacon Kevin taught us.  Here's some potential prompts, but of course you can ask God or talk to Him about anything!

  • Jesus, how do You see me right now?
  • Father, how do You want me to see myself right now?
  • Lord, what is my purpose?
  • Holy Spirit, what is it You want to say about my relationship with You?
  • Father, is there a change You want me to make in my life? (or ask about a certain specific situation)
  • Jesus, is there someone You want me to reach out to and offer Your love this week/today?  How should I go about this?
  • Holy Spirit, I'm having trouble understanding (insert Church teaching, Bible passage, life situation, etc.), can You please show me this from Your perspective? What should I do next?
  • Jesus, when I stand before You at the end of my life what will matter to me and to You about how I lived it? How will I be judged? What must I do to be saved?
