IMPORTANT NOTICE: Termite Tenting -- Daily Mass Cancelled August 13-16 2024 -- Find Alternative Catholic Parish for Holy Day of Obligation - August 15th
Dear Parishioners,
We would like to inform you that during roof construction this week it has been found that the church/parish hall must be tented for termites. Thankfully, the company was able to schedule this before school starts (Tuesday, August 20th). For tenting to be effective, it requires a minimum of four days.
The tenting will take place from Tuesday, August 13th - Friday, August 16th.
During this time there will be NO daily Mass (the parish hall is included in the tenting, and so we must cancel).
**Please Note: Thursday, August 15th is a holy day of obligation – the Assumption of Mary. It is a precept of the Church to attend Mass every Sunday and Holy Days of obligation, so please know that you ARE still required to attend Mass for the Assumption of Mary, you just cannot attend here at St. Vincent’s. Every other parish in the diocese will be having at least one, and most likely more than one Mass on this day – please find a different parish to attend Mass on August 15th (or the Vigil for the Assumption on the 14th). Masstimes.org may be helpful in finding a parish near you – it is advised to also check the alternate parish's website/bulletin or call the church for their special holy day of obligations times.
Again, this is a necessary and temporary CANCELLATION of daily Masses for August 13, 14, 15, and 16th 2024 only.
There WILL still be Mass at St. Vincent's this weekend (8/10 & 8/11), as well as next weekend, (8/17 & 8/18). Daily Mass will return in the parish hall on the week of the 19th.
Additionally, the parish office will remain open during the week of tenting (closed on Monday for staff retreat) at its regular times.
