The Catholic Bible -- How to Aquire, FAQs and Resources

THE HOLY BIBLE -- How to pick a Catholic Bible Right for you and other Bible Resources

There is a you difference between Catholic Bibles and Protestant Bibles, so if you are in OCIA we suggest you find yourself a nice Catholic Bible. There are many versions of the Catholic Bible --- some are more close to the Greek/Hebrew exact translation, and some are more colloquial and reader friendly.  As Jeff Cavins says, the best Bible to get is the one that you will read!

Catholic Bibles have 73 books and Protestant Bibles have 66.  See the video below for why that is so.  Catholic Bibles will most always specify that they are a "Catholic Bible" so as long as you search for a Catholic Bible, you should be good to go.

You can search online, amazon.com always has everything, or you can go to a local Catholic Bookstore.  Our Lady of the Rosary in Little Italy has a nice variety of Catholic Bibles.

Here are a few popular options linked to amazon for your convenience (if you like inserts and extras in your Bible):

Great Adventure Bible

Catholic Answers Bible

Catholic Bible journal combo with large print

Plain Bible No Inserts $19.99
